Yes. You are the author and publisher of your book. You have the option of using your own publishing imprint or working under our brand, but either way we do not take any rights or royalties to your work. Your book is copyrighted by you and belongs entirely to you.
Traditional publishing means your book is published by an established publishing house. They cover upfront costs and may offer cash advances, but you give up creative control, royalties, and are bound by limiting contract clauses. The process is slow and getting accepted is highly competitive. Self-publishing means you retain full creative control and 100% of your royalties, publish on your own timeline, and own your work completely. The trade-off is that you cover the upfront investment and are responsible for building your audience. Write It Out Publishing makes self-publishing feel supported, structured, and professional.
Timelines vary based on a number of factors — where you are in our project queue, current deadlines, your manuscript readiness, and how consistently payments are made. Production — editing, formatting, and design — typically runs 6 to 12 weeks once your manuscript is submitted and ready. Your specific timeline will be confirmed during your onboarding call.
No. We offer ghostwriting and book development services for authors who are still in the ideation or drafting phase. Our Release the Scribes Bootcamp is also specifically designed to help you break through hindrances and complete your writing assignment before production begins.
This varies from author to author. A focused writer can complete a manuscript in as little as a few days to a few weeks. The key is creating a writing schedule, committing to it, and writing your thoughts out freely first — structure, chapters, and formatting come after. Yes. A security deposit is required to begin your project. Our maximum payment plan is 6 months. The project must be paid in full before the final manuscript is released to you. All funds paid are non-refundable once work has begun. Resources are allocated to your project from the moment it is activated. You may choose to discontinue service at any point, but all funds paid to that point cannot be returned. All terms are clearly outlined in your publishing agreement before any work begins.
Yes. A written publishing agreement is required before any work begins. This agreement gives us authorization to process and publish your book on your behalf. It protects you by documenting every service, timeline, and policy agreed upon — and it protects us by establishing the boundaries of the engagement clearly.
